Economy of Scale When Creating Multiple Videos

PremierGarage was in desperate need of videos that highlighted their impressive growth and expansion as a company, their updated branding and current products and services. The challenge was that these videos needed to meet the needs of two completely different audiences.
The first audience was prospective franchisees—business people analyzing PremierGarage as a potential business opportunity. This audience would want to hear about the experiences and success of the more than 80 franchisees who have already signed on with PremierGarage. They would also want to know about the stability and plans of PremierGarage as a company.
The second audience was prospective PremierGarage customers—homeowners and homebuilders considering whether to hire PremierGarage for their complete suite of garage enhancement products and services. This audience would want to hear about the quality of the products, the quality of the service, and, most importantly, they would want to hear how other customers liked the experience of working with PremierGarage.
In order to meet the needs of both audiences, we identified key areas of informational overlap. We then crafted questions for franchisees, customers, PremierGarage management, and homebuilders that would get soundbites that could be used in either, or both, videos. We then planned our shooting to achieve the same goal—gather footage suitable to both videos.
The end result of all this careful planning and foresight was that PremierGarage was able to get two videos for only slightly more than the cost of producing a single video.
